The Parkdale People’s Economy is hiring for a two-year, full-time contract! The Community Health Lead will coordinate an emergent community-based project that aims to strengthen the neighbourhood economy by building a workforce planning strategy for equitable and inclusive hiring in the healthcare sector. The lead will be responsible for building partnerships with local anchor institutions, health providers, unions, employment agencies, community groups, and workers to build a workforce planning pathway with a focus on safe, healthy, and dignified workplaces in our health care systems, as well as addressing key considerations for economic security in the recovery, rebuild, and transformation from COVID-19. The lead will support a three-phase project: mapping the healthcare sector from a place-based lens; assessing strategies through focus groups with key stakeholders; and building the pathways for piloting inclusive local hiring opportunities in the neighbourhood. As a member of the Parkdale People’s Economy team, the successful candidate will also contribute to the overall neighbourhood planning, organizing, design, and implementation of the wider project.
